If you’re based in Abu Dhabi, Amman, Bahrain, Beirut, Berlin, Boston, Cairo, Doha, Dubai, Kuwait, London, Los Angeles, Marrakech, Montreal, New York, Paris, Riyadh, Toronto, Tunis, and Washington DC, we want to hear from you!
If you’re based elsewhere in the world but would love to represent afikra and host a pop-up event in your city, you can still fill out the form below. We will get in touch with you separately.
SO…WHAT IS AN AFIKRA AMBASSADOR?
afikra Ambassadors are grassroots volunteers who organize local events and serve as points of contact for their local afikra community.
Our work wouldn’t be possible without the support of our ambassadors around the world, and in return, you get to be part of a global community of leaders, organizers, and nerds, all passionate about the histories & cultures of the Arab world.
AS AN AMBASSADOR, YOU’LL HAVE THE FOLLOWING RESPONSIBILITIES:
Help to plan the local afikra event schedule in your city
Support with recruiting presenters, promoting events & fundraising
Set up on the day of the events & hosting/MC-ing
Doing your own afikra presentation at least once in the year
Being a friendly nerd who is true to afikra’s values when representing afikra on a local and global level <3
