• What to expect at our community events (salons)?

  afikra Salon is a salon-style event where members of the community present on cultural and historical topics they are curious about from the Arab world. The purpose of each evening is to bring together a community of like-minded individuals and have a fruitful conversation about things we don't know much about.

• Can I invite friends?

  Absolutely. If you want to invite anyone, please have them RSVP so we can keep track of who is coming.

• Can non-Arabs come?

  Of course! Everyone is welcome!!

• What topics will people present on?

  We don't announce the topics beforehand but they vary widely. They are based on a curiosity that the presenter had related to Arab histories and cultures. The presentations are about showcasing and sharing what they found after spending some time looking into their curiosity.
