Synopsis: In “Sudan Retold”, 31 Sudanese artists tell stories from their homeland. The book is not primarily concerned with historical details, but with an understanding of historical contexts through artistic representation. For those who would like an introduction into Sudanese history, this may be the perfect illustrated book. Sudan Retold is trilingual (German, English and Arabic) and thus enables readers to obtain an impression of Sudanese history through text, image and illustration.
