George Junne (Ph.D. University of Michigan) is a  professor at the University of Northern Colorado whose work focuses on African Americans and film, the Black American West, the Civil War, general African American history, culture, and Blacks and the Ottoman Empire. He is the author of "The Black Eunuchs of the Ottoman Empire: Networks of Power in the Court of the Sultan" (I.B. Tauris, 2016).
