Sultan Al-Qassemi | Bridging Cultures Through Arab Art and Architecture

We talked to Sultan about how he first became interested in art and collecting it, why he decided to share his collections instead of keeping them private, and about the story he is trying to tell through Barjeel Art Foundation. Additionally, we discussed the influence of art on society, Barjeel’s most recent exhibitions, and Sultan’s interest in urban history, urban and architectural transformation, and modernism.

Sultan Sooud Al Qassemi is a United Arab Emirates-based columnist whose articles have appeared in The Financial Times, The Independent, The Guardian, as well as other notable publications.
