Why are there so many articles that call Amazigh tattooing a 'dying art'? Who are the Amazigh anyway? And why is their ancient tattooing tradition so under-researched? This afikra feature explores the hows and whys of the tattooing tradition of the Amazigh in North Africa, which is usually practiced among women and includes ornamental face tattoos, healing tattoos, and even tattoos to keep away the evil eye.
