This afikra feature is an exploration of how the Arabic script posed as a technological challenge for mass production via print technologies like the printing press, typewriter, and the computer, developed primarily for the Latin script. This feature highlights some of the proposals brought forth that simplify the Arabic script to cater to the different technologies.
