The Abbasid Caliphate, starting in 750 AD, leveraged paper to translate and store ancient knowledge. Muslim scholars expanded on Greek music theories and developed new instruments. Over the next 400 years, these innovations spread to Europe through Muslim travelers and European scholars, sparking a growing interest in music.
