Born in the early 19th century, Sayyid Jamal al-Din al-Afghani was a political activist, mystic philosopher, religious reformist and advocate of pan Islamic unity. His political, religious and philosophical views would live on through his works and his students who harbored feelings of adoration and adulation for him.
