Feature: What's Meghli Got to Do With Babies?

Presenter: Yasmine Saab

Delivered:
Dubai on May 20, 2017

In the Levant, every happy day has its own dessert. Meghli is made for newborn babies, snayneyye is served to celebrate a baby's first tooth, and maamoul abounds exclusively at Easter and Eid. This afikra feature explores why some sweet dishes are so closely tied to a particular occasion, and uncovers the local ingredients that underpin many of our well-loved delicacies.

The presentation is the ‎culmination of the afikra coaching process to help identify a topic, find research, and develop the ‎presentation. afikra presentations come in two forms, a long question-driven afikra Feature, and a short afikra FWD with the purpose of sharing something interesting.
