afikra and Liwan invite you to participate in a three part workshop series based on afikra Curiosity pedagogy & Community Building Framework. This workshop series will provide an opportunity for participants to both engage their curiosity in the histories and cultures of the Arab world, connecting with each other, as well as contribute to the conversation by producing a presentation for the afikra x Liwan Showcase in March 2021.
Workshop participants will explore a topic, driven by their authentic curiosity, by critically examining past and current discourse on the region. The end goal is to discover new ideas they are invested to learn and share with a wider audience. They will engage in an inquiry-driven process through which they will formulate questions to investigate a topic of their choice. Through peer feedback, they will identify credible and interesting sources to answer their research question and explore effective ways of presenting effective and engaging presentations - designed to produce communal knowledge. Participants will also learn strategies for effective community and movement building.
