With an ever-changing political and religious climate, Iraqi maqam music remains one of the few things that most Iraqis agree upon – it is beautiful, it is relatable and it reminds us of our community. In this afikra feature, Yezen discussed how he learned more about Iraq through its ancient musical tradition - Iraqi maqam.
