Exploring Arabic Music and Improvisation Through Jazz | Lynn Adib

Lynn Adib performed three musical pieces: Youmma, Taht El Ward & Autruche followed by a discussion.

Born and raised in Damascus, Syria, Lynn Adib is a singer and composer known for her exploration of Arabic music and jazz improvisation. She discovered jazz at around the age of 19, following years of involvement with the Choir of Joy and classical flute studies at the National Conservatory in her hometown. After moving to Paris in 2009, Lynn released her debut album, Youmma, in 2018. Since then, she has collaborated with artists from around the globe, contributing to projects such as Bedouin Burger and Yalla Queen, and is currently preparing to release a duo album with French musician Marc Buronfosse. Lynn holds a degree in Jazz Studies from the Paris Conservatory, as well as a Pharmacy degree with a master’s in Medical Biology. She currently resides in Paris, France.
