FWD: "Footnotes in Gaza"- Joe Sacco

Presenter: Marya Atassi

Delivered:
Toronto on February 4, 2024

Marya talks about Joe Sacco, a journalist who, in his comic series Palestine, introduced a genre: graphic journalism. She focuses on two aspects that she believes capture the heart of his book, its purpose, and its timeless message: the problems within traditional journalism in reporting the Palestinian reality and how the graphic form and oral history can highlight the distinct difference between truth and objectivity.
